SUSTAINABILITY TARGETS

 

At Calik Denim, sustainability is at the core of our long-term strategy, guiding our decisions and actions toward a more responsible and resilient future. Building on our past achievements, we have established a set of long-term targets that address critical areas across our business, aiming for transformative outcomes.

 

The COVID-19 pandemic fundamentally shifted the global perspective on sustainability, revealing the deep interconnectedness of social, environmental, and economic systems. In the post-2020 period, new opportunities and responsibilities have driven us to set more comprehensive and forward-looking goals. We have set new goals for ourselves, in four major categories: Planet, Supply Chain, Business Model, and Employee Experience.

PLANET
Target 1: Achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2045
Target 2: Covering 60,000 hectares with biodiversity and regenerative programs by 2030
Target 3: Reducing water consumption per production by 50% by 2030
Subtarget 1: Setting a Science-based Target for greenhouse gas emissions by 2030
Subtarget 2: Generating 75% of the electricity used from renewable sources
Subtarget 3: Ensuring all electricity used comes from renewable sources
Subtarget 4: Increasing the rate of reused water to 40% by 2030
Subtarget 5: Eliminating the amount of waste sent to temporary storage from production processes (Zero Waste to Landfill)
SUPPLY CHAIN
Target 1: Ensuring that critical raw materials, chemicals, and packaging materials come from sustainable and/or certified sources by 2030
Target 2: Achieving a 100% traceable and transparent supply chain
Subtarget 1: Ensuring that all chemicals and cotton used are supplied from certified sources
Subtarget 2: Sourcing 100% GOTS-certified materials
Subtarget 3: Ensuring that critical raw materials, chemicals, and packaging materials come from sustainable and/or certified sources by 2030
Subtarget 4: Auditing all strategic suppliers for environmental and social criteria
EMPLOYEE EXPERIENCE
Target 1: Eliminating the gender pay gap across the organization
Target 2: Maintaining employee engagement levels between 70-80%
Target 3: Keeping the regretted loss rate within the range of 11-12%
Subtarget 1: Keeping employee satisfaction rate between 70-80%
Subtarget 2: Determining and increasing employee experience rate by 2025
Subtarget 3: Doubling the number of white-collar and blue-collar employees included in career development programs by 2030
Subtarget 4: Increasing the number of blue-collar female employees by 50% by 2025
Subtarget 5: Increasing the number of applicable ideas coming from sustainability-focused in-house entrepreneurship programs
BUSINESS MODEL
Target 1: Increasing the revenue from the sustainable products by 60%
Target 2: Increasing investments made for sustainability collaborations by 50%
Target 3: Adapting to a circular business model by 2035
Target 4: Investing 1% of annual EBITDA in social transformation
Subtarget 1: Doubling investments in sustainable R&D and innovation
Subtarget 2: Implementing measurable social investment projects (SROI ≥1)
Subtarget 3: Increasing the number of actionable ideas from sustainability-focused open innovation programs
